FastEx Prohibited Items: Restricted Goods & Shipping Guidelines
A plain guide to goods that are usually banned or restricted by couriers, and how to check FastEx’s own list in its terms and conditions.
Why Courier Restrictions Exist
Couriers ban some items to keep staff, vehicles, planes and other people’s parcels safe. FastEx publishes its own list of prohibited items and conditions in its terms and conditions. The groups below are items that couriers commonly ban. Always check FastEx’s own list before you send something unusual.
The sender is responsible for what is inside the parcel. Sending banned or dangerous goods can mean your parcel is refused at the counter, held or reported to the authorities.
Items That Are Usually Banned
These groups of items are commonly not accepted by couriers. Check FastEx’s terms and conditions for its exact list.
Weapons, Fireworks and Explosives
Guns, fake guns, bullets, fireworks, matches, gunpowder and anything that can explode or burn. These are dangerous in vans and on planes, for Globex international parcels too.
Fuels and Harsh Chemicals
Fuels, paints, thinners, alcohol-based liquids, strong acids, harsh cleaning products and poisons. These can leak, burn or cause harm on the way.
Cash, Gold and Valuables
Cash, coins, cheques, bank cards, gold bars and loose precious stones are usually not accepted. Use a bank to send money.
Illegal Drugs
Illegal drugs and any substance banned under Pakistani law are not allowed. Couriers work with the authorities to stop them.
Food That Can Go Off
Fresh meat, dairy, fresh fruit and other food that can go off are usually not accepted. Parcels that smell or leak may be stopped.
Live Animals and Medical Waste
Live animals of any kind, human remains, medical waste and samples that could spread infection are usually banned.
Take Extra Care: Batteries, Liquids and Sprays
Some items may be allowed only with special packing or checks. Ask FastEx before you book:
Lithium Batteries and Power Banks
Loose or damaged lithium batteries can catch fire. Devices with batteries inside need safe packing, especially for Globex parcels going by air.
Sprays and Liquids
Spray cans and large bottles of liquid may be restricted. Seal liquids well so they cannot leak, and tell the counter what you are sending.
Your Responsibility and Parcel Checks
Counter staff and airport security may check a parcel to make sure its contents match what you declared and follow the rules.
When you send a parcel, you are confirming that:
- The parcel only contains legal goods that are allowed in the destination and by the courier.
- The packing is strong enough for normal handling on the way.
- What you declared, such as the contents, weight and value, is true.
Checking an Unusual Item Before You Send It
If you are not sure whether an item, chemical, sample or device can be sent, check first:
- Read the terms and conditions on the FastEx website at
fastex.pk/term&condition/. - Take the open parcel to your nearest FastEx Express Center and ask the counter staff to check it.
